Matt Bolton, RCSWI
Hello there! I’m Matt. I am a three-time graduate of Saint Leo University, holding bachelor's and
master’s degrees in psychology (2019 and 2021) and a master’s degree in social work with an advanced clinical practice specialization (August 2025). I’m also a doctoral candidate in psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in England. I’m active as an academic researcher and have been mentoring grade school as well as university-level students since 2014.
As a registered clinical social work intern, I enjoy working with teenagers and adults. Across my experiences in the mental health field I have worked with kids as young as 11 to adults in their 60s on
issues such as anger management, anxiety, school support, bullying, depression, compassion and self-compassion, self-esteem, grief and loss, interpersonal and domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse, trauma, work-life balance and stress, parenting, shame, elder and child caregiving, burnout, family and relationship problems, and home life challenges. I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals, to which work I bring lived experience as an autistic-ADHD person, as well as LGBTQ community members.
I deeply enjoy facilitating personal growth and exploration and approach my work from a position that is relational, collaborative, empowering, curious, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive. I take a view of problems including not only the individual but the context of their environment. I strive to
cultivate a therapeutic space which is warm, nonjudgmental, and safe, where people feel able to be themselves and explore their inner and outer lives, navigate problems and life transitions, and find solutions through challenges. I believe all people have the capacity for growth and the ability to achieve their life goals. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life and seek to get up-close to and bear witness to their unique world.
Outside of work, when I’m not spending time with my girlfriend I enjoy reading and
writing, playing the bass guitar, and nature photography.
