Darrah Short earned her BSW and MSW through the University of Wyoming. Currently based in New Mexico, she is working as a therapist for people experiencing trauma and drug use and volunteers at the Health Equity Council. She has worked in public health research, case management for survivors of relationship violence, mental health counseling, policy, and non-profit work. She believes in the “head, heart, and hands” approach to social work - ask her about it! As a mentor, Darrah hopes to support students in finding creativity, sustainability, and confidence in their paths.
Darrah is also an artist and creator, daughter, writer, music-lover, friend, and partner. She enjoys leisurely walks, public libraries, coffee shops, thrift stores, and watching movies. She is re-learning how to enjoy exercise, reading, and cooking.
